[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Do you have any idea how hard it is to start a blog post about skiing-related activities without a “Winter is coming” GoT reference?
It’s really hard, OK.
What’s not hard is finding something skiing related to do the weekend starting Friday, Nov. 2.
First up: Bring your used skis, snowboards, boots, and winter gear for consignment — or shop for new gear — from 5-8 p.m. Friday or 7:30- 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center as Black Hills Ski for Light Annual Ski Swap kicks off. Black Hills Ski for Light offers downhill and cross country skiing events for blind, visually impaired and mobility impaired individuals. So, it’s an incredibly rad community effort to support.
Next stop: Get your stoke on at Paddy O’Neill’s from 3:30-6:30 p.m. during the Zig-Zag pre-party. You’re not gonna wanna miss this epic event as we party down with Peak Sports before the Level 1 Productions’ Zig Zag Ski Movie Premiere. As always, there’ll be plenty of tasty beers on tap, plus a snowboard giveaway and free rides (and beer) on the Black Hills Party Pedaler.
And then: Speaking of Level 1 Productions’ of Zig Zag Ski Movie Premiere, you’ll want to skedaddle over to The Elks Theatre to catch the premiere of a brand-new ski flick from Level 1 Productions, proceeds of which go to…you guessed it: Black Hills Ski For Light. After the event, head on over to Independent Ale House for the after party.
Skiing just not your bag? No worries. Starting at noon, you can swing into Independent Ale House for the fifth annual Rare Beerfest. Tons of tasty rare beers on tap, including a few specialty and barrel-aged beers from yours truly.
Also, watch for updates from our “Learn to Homebrew Day!” in conjunction with the American Homebrewers Association.
So, as long as you like skiing and/or beer, you’re gonna be plenty busy this weekend. And if you don’t … well, we probably can’t be friends.
Hope to see y’all out spreading the stoke on Friday and Saturday!
