Our 2nd annual Dogs of Lost Cabin Calendar is hot off the press, we had so much fun making them that we wanted to share some behind the scenes moments with you, and tell you why a brewery is making a dog calendar in the first place.
Hundreds of entries poured in this year from all over the state. Choosing which dogs to eliminate was so difficult, it became a point of contention between some of our employees. (I’m so sorry Gucci, I still haven’t forgiven them for ousting you). Alas, only 12 dogs could make it to the end. Blame the Pope that invented the Gregorian calendar, or write your Senator. We don’t make the rules.
Why a dog calendar? Mostly so we can hang out with dogs, but also to supports some great causes. 100% of the proceeds of the calendars will be donated to Battle Mountain Humane Society, Hobo’s Healing Heart, and The Humane Society of the Black Hills. We weren’t alone in taking on this project. A dozen other local businesses were kind enough to sponsor a month on the calendar to offset printing costs so we could donate as much money as possible. We would also like to send a huge thank you to Erica Lane Photography for donating her time and editing skills for no charge. We were all very impressed with her dog wrangling abilities as well.
If your dog didn’t make it this year, or if you forgot to enter, keep your eyes open next fall, because we’ll be doing it all over again. In the meantime, pick up one of these puppies to motivate yourself to pet more dogs in 2022!
